For years bingo was generally consigned to the elderly, but times have changed considerably.  Throughout the UK, everyone is getting the bingo bug and the whole world of bingo has been modified to follow suit.

There are so many ways in which to play the game in these modern times.  Gone are the dingy bingo halls, replaced by modern and bright facilities.  Women and men both young and old enjoy a good night out at the bingo.  This is a whole new social scene which young women especially enjoy.  There are many different types of games of bingo which can be played in the bingo halls, with some of the most popular being ones where there is a progressive jackpot which accrues over time, with one person eventually becoming the lucky winner.  These types of game can at times give pay outs of many thousands of pounds.

Online bingo has exploded onto the bingo scene in the past decade too.  These sites are very social affairs often with players talking via text chat consoles before, during and after they play games.  As with the bingo halls, there are many different games to play within the cyber bingo sites and again those progressive jackpot games are extremely popular.

Whether it is played online or in person you can be assured that there is a great deal of fun and potentially some great winnings to be had playing bingo.

From their humble beginnings as “one arm bandits,” slot machines have changed significantly with regards to the way in which they are made.  The antiquated and out-dated mechanical designs have been replaced by computer software.  However, little has changed in the way in which they are played.

The player pulls the handle of the slot machine and the reels start to rotate and stop at random when the computer program instructs them to.  The game still takes little skill at all.  A win is determined when the pictures on the reels come to rest in a particular formation that will be shown on the pay-out table.

Sometimes the player will win nothing at all.  Other times the pay outs can be decent or even very large.  The low stakes and the prospect of good pay outs encourages the player to keep feeding the machine and enjoying the game.  This is often a lot of fun on an evening out at a bar or casino and offers a little light relief to the more involved and traditional games of skill and luck.

Horse racing is a fascinating and enjoyable sport and offers gamblers the chance to win some money. In the UK, the Grand National is one of the most heavily backed races. The race is held annually at Aintree and it offers both jockeys and riders the chance to demonstrate their skill over thirty fences. The race is supported by most of the UK population and is famous for its ‘Housewife’s Flutter.’

Horse racing was first recorded in ancient Egypt and Greece, and the sport is as much about the skill of the jockey as the horse. The bookmaker or ‘bookie’ sets the odds on a horse and determines these odds on a variety of factors. These factors include which horse looks the strongest in the field, whether the jockey has a strong reputation, who trained the horse, the type of ground (whether it is hard or soft) and the horse’s ancestry is important. Any descendants of the famous Red Rum could be seen to have a good pedigree and therefore more likely to win money for the bookie rather than the gambler. The gambler tries to outwit the bookies by carrying out his own research, listening to the forecasts given daily in the press or on the TV and sometimes, just by following a hunch. The longer the odds that are declared by the bookie, the more likely that the gambler could win a substantial amount, 25-1 will always bring in far more than odds of 3-1.

Some people prefer to place an ‘each way’ bet, as this will allow them to win money if a horse comes second or third as well as first. The winnings are not as high as a first past the post bet but they do give a greater range of opportunity to the person placing the bet.

Workers at a casino are part of the service industry and, while patrons are not obligated to do so, it is expected that you will provide a tip to an employee who provides a direct service. Tips are called tokes in the casino world, and it is perfectly acceptable to toke an employee with chips.

Dealers rely on tokes, so if you are winning and the dealer is pleasant, helpful and friendly, it is proper to toke. It is good to tip a couple of times an hour in an amount less than your average wager, rather than waiting and leaving a large toke when you finish playing. Poker dealers, keno runners and change persons around the slot machines should also be toked, with a few dollars on the low end and a larger percentage if you hit a sizable jackpot.

Though drinks themselves are free, cocktail waitresses should all receive a toke, a dollar or two being the minimum. Even if the food is complimentary, toke the waiters, waitresses and buffet servers as well.

Though theme and décor vary greatly, most casinos have a similar layout geared toward bringing players in and keeping them there and happy.

One-armed bandits greet guests as they enter the casino floor, with row upon row of slot machines taking up a great deal of space. Toward the centre of the floor will be the table games, with the largest share of tables devoted to the popular game of blackjack. Next in number are the craps tables, with other tables set up for roulette, mini-baccarat, Let It Ride and Caribbean Stud Poker.

The high-stakes tables for baccarat and other similar games are usually separate from the floor tables, in private or semi-private rooms and areas. Often, high rollers are the only guests with access to these exclusive areas.

Tucked in a corner somewhere is the Keno parlour, usually quiet with little traffic and a few determined players. Poker tables are also relegated to an out-of-the-way area and it may take some searching upon arrival to find them.

A variety of foods and drinks are available off the casino floor, and everything from coffee shops to fine dining restaurants is represented.

Bingo Hints and Tips, Online Bingo

Bingo is one of the most popular gambling games in the UK.  The game is usually played in large halls with a lot of participants and good cash prizes. Visitors to online bingo sites, including xbingo.com, will notice that the game is played slightly differently.

The scoring cards in the UK version of bingo have three lines and nine columns.  They are mainly sold in ‘books’ that can be single or multiple.  Each ‘book’ is made up of 10 cards, often with different colours so they can be easily distinguished.  A multiple ‘book’ is supposed to represent six single books – each page has six cards of the same colour.

The players can also choose to buy single sheets, which are also called ‘flyers’ – a bingo card with six sections.  In some games of bingo, the flyers are a bit more expensive, but their cash prizes are usually bigger.  In UK bingo, people in bigger cities often take the game more seriously, so the game callers can be much faster, while in smaller venues the atmosphere is more relaxed.  In xbingo.com, the players can play at their own pace.

Gambling, Poker

Caribbean Stud Poker originated on cruise ships and has become one of the fastest growing table games today, a mainstay of United States casinos. Easy to understand, the object of the game is to beat the dealer’s five-card poker hand and not the other players.

The Scene

Caribbean Stud Poker is played on a blackjack-type table with up to seven seats for players. The table is run by one dealer and he uses a standard 52-card deck. Each player position at the table has areas marked ANTE and BET and a drop slot between the ante area and the dealer. An automatic shuffling machine deals the cards, spitting them out five at a time.

The Action

Play begins after all the players make the mandatory ante bet in the designated ante area in front of them. The dealer takes the sets of five cards from the shuffling machine and places one before each player, including himself. The dealer reveals one card from his set, placing it on top of the other four. The dealer then pushes each set of cards closer to the appropriate players, who may now pick up their cards.

Players evaluate their hands based on poker hand rankings. A player has two choices: to fold and not continue or to play out the hand. A player that chooses to fold places the hand of cards facedown towards the dealer. The dealer then collects the hand and the ante. If a player plays the hand, then a bet equal to twice the ante must be placed on the bet area of the table.

The dealer then determines if his hand qualifies, or if it is strong enough to beat a poker hand containing an ace and king. If the answer is yes, hands are compared and the highest hand wins. If the hand does not qualify, all players win back their ante. The bet is considered a push and is not paid off.

Whether heading to the track to take in the sights and smells of the races along with your desire to win some money, or simply enjoying the comforts of your own home while placing those long-shot bets, you are going to want to know what types of bet you can make, and what the exact odds are of each horse in each race.  The odds will help you to know exactly how big that windfall payout will be when your horse finishes ahead of the field.

Along with knowing the odds, you will want to decide exactly what type of bet you are going to make.  There are many different types and each will have its own risk versus reward.  The simplest and most common bets are those that are made on a single horse to either Win, Place, or Show, or finish in first, second, or third respectively.  These have smaller risks, and therefore, smaller rewards.

If you want to increase the risk for the bigger reward, then you will make what is known as a combination bet.  There are many different types of combination bets.  If you want to pick two horses to finish in exactly first and second that would be called an ‘Exacta’ or ‘Straight Forecast’.  You can also make that same bet with one small difference, that it does not matter in which order they finish, but they still both finish first and second, and that would be called a ‘Quiniela’ or ‘Reverse Forecast’.  You can go for the bigger long-shot bets like the ‘Trifecta’ or ‘Treble Forecast’, using three horses, and the granddaddy of them all, the ‘Superfecta’.  This is made by selecting four horses and picking exactly the order in which they will finish in the top four spots respectively.

Whichever style and type of bet that you make, be sure to know the odds going in, so that your experience when you bet on the horses is a great one.

Keno is a fun game, which originally started in casinos and pubs that allowed gambling. It has since become very popular and is a regular fixture of many online gambling sites. Should you decide you would like to practice before playing live games there are sites that allow you to play Keno for free. This is a good way to get used to the game and how it works before you place a bet. You should search through a number of websites to find one that meets your specific needs, because each has a selection of Keno games that appeal to different players.

What to Do

Once you are familiar with the rules, you should play more than one card at a time, as this will increase the chances of winning. For example, one of the most popular online Keno games allows you to play seven cards at once, greatly increasing the odds of you being successful. Play the maximum amount that you are comfortable with. As with most games, you are more likely to win a higher amount when you wager a little more.

How to Have a Winning Chance

Always check the payout chart before you begin playing. There are many Keno games where you can only win the jackpot by matching all 15 numbers. However, many have smaller combinations that involve matching only a few of the numbers. You may find that you have very good results when you match two or three numbers. If you are playing on a site that offers cash prizes remember that the payouts on smaller groups of numbers may be rather small, but they will eventually add up if you win regularly.
