A Choice of Snooker Betting
Fri, 27th January 2012

For fans of snooker betting and snooker free bets, there are three types of wager available on all televised tournaments – tournament betting, pre-match betting and in-play betting, while non-televised events offer tournament and match betting.  Every ranking event in the snooker season is covered by Eurosport and the BBC, providing many opportunities for fans to place a wager, and many tournaments are sponsored by bookmakers themselves.

Tournament Betting

These games offer outright betting and quarter betting as well as wagers on who makes the highest break or if a 147 will be made.  Also available to bet on can is the, name the finalist market, and the nationality of the winner market.

Pre-Match Betting

Match betting is popular as games are usually short.  Betting on a match with a handicap is widespread, as is predicting the correct score.  Other wagers include the total number of frames to be played, the number of 50 plus breaks and the correct number of century breaks.  A punter can also bet on the highest break player and what the break might be.

In-Play Betting

The most popular type of in-play betting is who will be the match winner.  Odds can change very quickly as each shot can have a big impact on the course of the game.  Punters can also wager on the winner of the next frame or the number of points to be scored in each frame.  In addition, a bet can be placed on which colour will be potted first in each frame.

Probably the most traditional of all poker games, Seven Card Stud is played using a standard 52 card deck and can be played by up to nine players in any one game, depending on the type of players in the game.

The dealer will burn one card and then proceed to deal two cards face down to each player and a third card face up for all to see.  At this time, the betting rounds begin.  In some versions of this game, an ante and a bring-in bet are used.  As betting takes place, players can choose to stay in and call the bet, stay in and raise the bet, or fold.  As each round of betting concludes, the remaining players are dealt another up card after a burn card is dealt out by the dealer.  The rounds 4th street through to 6th street, as the rounds are commonly called, are all played in the same way, and all cards are dealt face up.  Finally, on 7th street, one last card is dealt face down and the final round of betting takes place.

From 4th street onwards, all betting rounds are started by the player showing the highest hand in his showing cards.  If not enough players have folded when it gets to the later streets, the burn cards can then be used to finish-out the deal.  If there still are not going to be enough cards for each remaining player to get their last card, then one community card will be dealt face up to act as all the remaining players 7th street card.

Casinos, Online Casino, Online Gambling

Online casinos are becoming increasingly popular as people play to win the big jackpots and for recreation.  There are numerous UK online casinos and they give people the chance to enjoy all the fun of gaming on their computers, laptops and handheld devices.

The typical UK online casino is one of three types, but all offer all the fun and excitement of the casino without having to take the time and trouble of visiting a land based one.

Some online casinos require gamers to actually download software.  Without the downloaded software the gamer will not be able to play in that particular casino.  Usually players still have to be online to play on these websites, but there may be a provision for the gamer to play offline games.  This means games can still be played when the computer is not connected to the internet.  This is particularly useful where no connection is available.

Many casinos are now web-based.  This means that no downloads will be needed, or if they are they are only minimal.  Not having to download any software may well be seen as advantageous by some gamers, especially if they are playing on a borrowed computer.  However, these web-based casinos can only be played if there is an internet connection.

A more recent type of UK online casino is one that is ‘Live.’  Though these operate over the internet they involve real people dealing cards and spinning roulette wheels.  Online chat and webcam features give the effect of a land-based casino.

Poker

Poker has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity over the past few years thanks to online sites and television coverage.  There are now a number of poker tours that visit or are based in the United Kingdom.

The tour events feature a number of top professional players but they are not exclusively for these players.  Unlike a golf tour, anyone can grab a seat at a tour event if they have the buy-in money.

The tour will stop off at a local casino for day or a weekend depending on the popularity of the event.  They are usually multiple table events where the players will have to battle through a number of rounds to get to the final table and play for the big prize money.  The event gives local players an opportunity to enjoy that big poker atmosphere and compete against some of the best in the game.

Online poker player are advised to visit a tour event held at their local casino where they could gain some great experience of a live game and maybe make a name on one of the poker tours.

Bingo Hints and Tips, Online Bingo, Online Gambling

Since its commercial development in the United Kingdom during the 1960’s, bingo has long been a popular game that has involved many different types of people.  Once just played in a traditional bingo hall, the game has, in recent years, seen a huge change, mirroring the development of technology and adapting to the modern day.  As well as being played in halls, bingo games can now be played online, giving the players the freedom to sit in the comfort of their own homes whilst they join in.

Bingo games have long been enjoyed by many for their social aspect.  Games have often brought together communities of regular players who enjoy the companionship brought by the game each time it is played.  Bingo sites have been keen to retain this important, social element and have cleverly managed not to loose it even though players can be, physically, miles away from each other when taking part.  By using online chat features, players are encouraged to talk to each other throughout each game, establishing relationships whilst they play.

The convenient features of online bingo allow this social aspect to be easily maintained.  For example, the auto daub feature that many online bingo games employ means each player does not have to be glued to the screen, listening for every number that is called out.  The online system will check each number against a player’s cards, and will even keep the most successful card at the top of the deck, ensuring the player can see their closest possibility to winning a game.

Cheltenham is a marathon not a sprint. This race meeting requires stamina, for the gambler as much as the horses.

A Cheltenham betting strategy requires a little planning to make sure that the budget can be spread over the whole 27-race meeting, rather than blown on a couple of injudicious choices on the opening day.

Studying the card in advance allows the gambler to select the horses they want to concentrate their betting investments on and plan whether the bets will be win-only, each-way, or grouped in doubles and trebles. Many gamblers like to pick one horse each day as the focus of their attention, and maintain interest with a series of small bets across the rest of the card.

It is sensible to leave a floating fund that is available to bet on sudden market movers, or horses that attract attention in the parade ring. Cheltenham betting success can often be about opportunism, or following instincts.

It is usually entertaining to invest a small bet in Jackpot or Placepot selections for each day of the meeting. These bets, requiring the selection of the winners of every race or horses placed in every race, allow an element of fantasy to enter the business of Cheltenham betting. If the chosen horses are successful in the first four or five races of the afternoon, it can also make for a nervous and thrilling end to the day.

Casinos, Gambling

Blackjack, otherwise known as twenty-one, is the most-played casino game across the globe. It starts with the player being dealt a two-card hand, from which they can decide whether or not to draw more cards from the dealer’s deck. Their objective is to reach the number 21 or to be dealt a number less than 21 but higher than the hand of the dealer. If the player is drawn cards that take them over the number 21, they lose the game.

The simplicity of blackjack makes it one of the most accessible games to beginners, and with the growth of online blackjack this has never been more the case.

Some casinos offer video blackjack, which is played using electronic consoles. This way of playing the game is very similar to that of online blackjack, but with each game being dealt from a new deck, players who usually rely on the strategic technique of card counting cannot try to predict which cards they will be dealt.

Gambling, Online Gambling

While most gambling games are games of chance, players can take certain steps to maximise their winnings from gambling.

Certain card games, such as poker and blackjack, are a mix of luck and strategy. The strategy part requires players to think about their next move, and the possible implications of making certain moves.  Thus, in order to win at such card games, players can think hard about their next move and also of the risks and possible benefits of making such a move.

The good thing about games such as poker and blackjack is that players can develop their skills with practice. Thus, in order to maximise their winnings, players can choose to practice such card games in order to improve. For example, players can learn to count cards in blackjack to give them an advantage.

Although games such as roulette and craps depend highly on the luck of a player and less on thinking, players may be able to win significant amounts of money in the short term through these games.  However, to maximise winnings, players should still focus on card games involving skill.

Betting, Gambling

Gamblers often have to make assessments on the value of their bets and the returns they might bring. It is the prize money that initially entices the gamble in the first instance but, as with any great prize, it is not particularly easy to win. Gamblers adopt tactics to maximize their betting ability, often overlooking a heavy bet on a random but high reward long shot for lower, more regular payouts of smaller amounts on more certain odds.

Proportional betting works on the theory that the capital amount available to spend is the crucial factor, not the maximization of profits. This basically translates to safely betting manageable amounts on shorter odds, rather than risking the loss of all of the capital on long shots that have high, but less certain,  rewards. Proportional betters remind themselves constantly why long odds are in place!

Spreading bets is a theory many gamblers adhere to. In a race of 12 horses, where 6 are in with a realistic chance of winning, multiple smaller bets are placed to cover the top six, with the probability that one of those six will come home first. The wins are smaller, but so are the losses.

Gambling, Poker

Online poker is a form of the real-life game of poker where people can wager, over the Internet, on cards versus opponents.

Due to increased ease of access to the Internet, there are more people worldwide playing poker than ever before.  In addition to the growth of Internet use, online poker is attractive to beginners who may feel daunted at the prospect of visiting real-life poker rooms or casinos.  Many online gaming sites also offer tutorials, or a number of free turns, so that beginners can learn the game before they actually bet money on it, a service that is certainly not available in real-life gambling.  Interestingly there are actually fewer and fewer real-life casinos offering poker, as the casino does not earn much money from the game and therefore they offer other forms of gambling, such as slot machines, which are more profitable to them.  By contrast, online poker games are much more profitable for the providers, as they have fewer overheads and can attract more players.  Additionally, unconstrained by space, online poker sites can add as many poker tables, determined by the numbers of players, as are needed.  Online poker rooms, in contrast to many real-life casinos, do not charge players to enter tournaments, and also allow gamblers to wager smaller bets, or lower stakes.

Online poker started at the end of the 1990’s, steadily gaining popularity as the Internet grew.  But the event that gave online poker its biggest boost was when online poker player, Chris Moneymaker, won a chance to enter the real-life 2003 World Series of Poker as a prize for winning an online tournament.  The appropriately named Mr Moneymaker went onto win that year’s World Series.  The real-life poker world was appalled, but it gave online poker a huge amount of beneficial publicity.

Betting, Gambling

With more and more online gambling websites becoming available, many individuals choose to place bets online rather than opting for the traditional way of gambling. Although not as popular anymore, offline betting still offers a number of advantages and is still convenient for those who do not have access to the internet.

Whilst many online betting sites now enable players to feel as those they are in a casino-like atmosphere, the experience is not quite the same as it is offline. A day out at the races, whether it’s horseracing or greyhound racing, offers an atmosphere and a day out that cannot be matched by betting online.

Betting on your favourite casino games can be just as much fun as betting over the internet. Many people enjoy attending bingo halls, not just for the games but also for the atmosphere. Some people also hold their own private poker tournaments with friends, simply for a social gathering.

Although you are more likely to have access to free bets online than offline, it may be worth arranging a day out at the races simply to be reminded of what benefits and experiences traditional betting has to offer.
