The Future of Internet Gambling

May 16th, 2010

Internet gambling has become a popular and well advertised service offered by high street bookmakers. As the sites have become so popular, it is important to consider the future of internet gambling in a modern context. Sooner or later internet gambling companies will become an online service with a high street shop as opposed to the other way around.

The extra money that companies are able to pump into internet gambling means that they can offer some of the best free bet offers and online game graphics in the entire world. These will be even better in the next five to ten years and will one day become virtually like sitting at a real poker table or being at a horse racing meeting and betting in the stands.

In the future internet gambling will become more responsible than it already is. Customers are allowed to control their own spending habits but this still gives them room to overspend on their bank balances.

Systems will soon be put into place which will cap daily deposit amounts on websites like William Hill to minimal amounts if a customer agrees. These restrictions will become difficult to remove. Current tests are being performed on some betting sites, which allow customers to make a limited number of financial changes to their account in one month, restricting the flow of money severely.

This is a very good idea and Skybet is currently looking at copying the system, which allows limited changes to customer’s Sky Player accounts.
